For the second year in a row, MFA students at the Lamar Dodd School of Art are participating in Atlanta Art Week. This year’s exhibition HOMEWORK is a collaboration with Georgia State University's Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design that features 19 graduate students enrolled in two of Georgia's anchor art university programs.
This spring, nine students earning their Master's in Fine Arts (MFA) at the Lamar Dodd School of Art present Sharpening a Screw, a thesis exhibition at the Athenaeum opening to the public on April 12, 2024 from 6 - 8 pm.
The catalogue for the 2023 thesis exhibition re:(de)construction — shown in May 2023 at the school's downtown contemporary art gallery the Athenaeum — spotlights eleven MFA students, ten art history graduate students, and includes a guest essay by Director and Curator of the ICA Chattanooga Rachel Waldrop.
2022 MFA graduate of the Lamar Dodd School of Art Victoria Dugger has been selected as an exhibiting artist for New Worlds: Georgia Women to Watch, a highly-competitive exhibition that will be presented by the National Museum of Women in the Arts and the Georgia Committee at the Atlanta Contemporary in 2023.
