Like everyone in the world this year, UGA Cortona has felt the impact of COVID-19. As the severity of the virus began to increase during the early months of the pandemic, difficult decisions had to be made. In early March, after only a month of study in Italy, UGA students evacuated Cortona and returned to the United States. However, adversity fosters innovation and UGA Cortona students collaborated with faculty to develop ways that they would continue making art together ensuring artistic production and completion of academic credits. Created in Italy and in the US, the works of this exhibition reflects both UGA’s continuing bond with Cortona and the perseverance of the creative spirit.
