Stop the Bleed Training

As a part of the national “Stop the Bleed” initiative, the University of Georgia Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP) established a “Stop the Bleed” program in 2015. “Stop the Bleed” is a nationwide campaign to empower individuals, with training and access to bleeding control kits, to act quickly to save lives. No matter how rapid the arrival of professional emergency responders, bystanders will always be first on the scene. A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes, therefore it is important to quickly stop the blood loss. You can be an active participant in saving the life of a friend, a co-worker, a family member or a stranger.
