4’33” is the university’s annual research in the arts competition that highlights UGA student research in the arts and provides an opportunity to win prizes and to share creative inquiry with peers, faculty, administrators, and alumni throughout the university community. The competition is open to any graduate student or undergraduate student working on an advanced project who is conducting research related to the literary, visual, or performing arts or artists. In the spirit of John Cage’s groundbreaking work 4’33”, students will present for four minutes and thirty-three seconds. This year’s candidates will be reviewed by a panel of judges and the first prize winner will receive $433.
This event is part of the UGA Spotlight on the Arts festival. More information on the 2022 Spotlight on the Arts festival, including a schedule of events, can be found at http://arts.uga.edu.
