Important Back to School Information for Students

Welcome Back Students!

A great deal has changed since we skipped off to Spring Break last year – we even have new leadership in place – but, boy, are we glad to be back!

Your faculty have spent much of the summer thinking about you and these first few weeks of class, and have passed countless hours in zoom meetings thinking through as many details as possible in an effort to secure your safety while at the Dodd.

The purpose of this post is to share with you the many plans and guidelines we’ve put in place. PLEASE read the following information carefully and keep it handy for reference throughout the semester. I think you’ll find it answers many of the questions you might have, so please do check these resources first.

In the event you have a question that is not addressed here, use this guide to figure out whom to ask! And we will do our very best get you some answers.

Sincerely,

Your new, Interim Co-Directors,

Michael Marshall

Isabelle Loring Wallace

New Health & Safety Rules

New Procedures

    • Studio access is limited during this time. Use this program to reserve studio space at the School of Art.
  • Request a Locker

    • Locker Requests will now be done entirely online. Please fill out this form with at least two choices in order to reserve a locker.
  • Checkout Audio/Visual Equipment

    • The CAVE will have limited equipment checkout services for faculty and students during the Fall 2020 semester. See this page to learn new checkout procedures.

What to do when…

Who do I talk to?

* There will be at least one staff member on the administrative wing each day of the week. Some staff members will have scheduled open Zoom hours for any drop-in questions you may have.

Where do I go?

We know that sometimes it can be challenging to navigate new settings. To help you get from class to class as quickly and efficiently as possible, the School of Art has compiled maps of its facilities.

Academic Support and Student Services

If you have any medical condition that makes you more vulnerable to severe illness* and need an academic accommodation, register as soon as possible through UGA Disabilities Resources. They will assist in coordination with your instructors.
