James Wang is an MFA candidate at the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia. Through photography, he examines the ways in which identity develops from place, and how the palimpsestic nature of such identities relate to memory.
Wang graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley. His undergraduate thesis examined the linguistic semiotics of Lewis Carroll’s The Hunting of the Snark. In his spare time, he roots for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
