Lamar Dodd School of Art is pleased to announce that this spring the Dodd Ambassadors were awarded a University of Georgia Parent Leadership Council Grant. This grant provides crucial funding for an art sale initiative that the Dodd Ambassadors are developing. Dodd Ambassadors Jackson Mitchell and Sarah Landmesser created a grant proposal in order to provide opportunities for art students to sell their work. Their project will provide the opportunity for students to sell their work safely during the pandemic via online platforms, in person markets, and more. Currently, the Dodd Ambassadors are working with Farmers Market Friends in order to sell art on campus alongside fresh produce.

The Parents Leadership Council has awarded over $3.2 million to support undergraduate student organizations. The Parents Leadership Council is a group of highly engaged parents who are eager to be involved on campus and make a direct impact on undergraduate student life.

The Dodd Ambassadors are a group of undergraduate students dedicated to the interests of current and prospective students at the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia. Eligibility is open to any undergraduate student within the School or Art. Ambassadors represent students across a variety of majors, areas and minors as we strive to embody our diverse academic programs and environment. Dodd Ambassadors serve as tour guides to prospective students, as representatives at school events, and as facilitators to conversations for change. In addition, the Ambassadors work in conjunction and alignment with the Lamar Dodd School of Art Administration and the Board of Visitors as student representatives. This allows the Ambassadors to work closely with the development office to recruit prospective students and promote student visibility to the board of visitors and guests, and to engage in opportunities for professional development.
