Tomorrow isn’t just another day – it’s potential. It’s a promise.
The University of Georgia was built to empower people to make a better tomorrow for our community, our state and our world – and the arts are the heartbeat that drives this mission forward.
Giving Week is a fundraising effort to encourage awareness and enthusiasm for alumni, parents, and friends of Lamar Dodd School of Art. It’s one week to help students, transform communities and change lives. Although Giving Week ends tomorrow, Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11:59 PM, our hopes are that our community continues to support Lamar Dodd School of Art.
With only 30% of our financial support coming from the state, private philanthropy is the way that we can create new programming, opportunities, and improve the experience for our students. This year, it was our Art School Excellence Fund that helped fund our Breakfast with Professionals virtual speaker series. Artists and professors, Brittainy Lauback and Jaime Bull introduced students to scholars, artists, and other professionals to learn more about professional practice and industry standards.
It takes all gifts of all sizes to make an impact, and no gift is too small. With one gift at a time and encouraging our supporters to give every year, we will continue to provide our students with innovative programming that exposes them to leading artists and scholars.
