The Spark Award supports undergraduate students at Lamar Dodd School of Art, who want to create visual art or research projects, enhancing their focus of study at Dodd. Applications open Monday, May 18, 2020. The deadline for applications is June 15, 2020.
Interested students will submit a proposal, via slideroom, that outlines their interest in creating visual art projects or art research studies that will be conducted outside of the classroom. This award is intended to give you an opportunity to foster your art and research interests. Proposed areas of study for this award may be influenced by the classroom or you may have an area of research that coincides with a topic that is influenced by current events.
Students should prepare the following items for submission:
- Narrative: Please describe your project or research in-depth, discussing why the subject matter interests you and how this award will enhance your studies at Lamar Dodd School of Art.
- Budget: What are the costs involved with your study or creative inquiry? Please include details such as art materials, books, travel, etc., outlining your costs to give the committee a better understanding of the resources associated with your project.
- Follow-up: Please propose how you will give the committee and the SPARK Award donors a detailed account of how you were able to use the funds to assist you with your research and inquiry. In the past, students have documented their donor stewardship with photos and detailed project synopses.
