Alumn Clary Bosbyshell included in Traditional Home Magazine

2007 Dodd Alum and Interior Designer Clary Bosbyshell was recently featured in the May / June 2019 issue of Traditional Home Magazine with her take on her favorite Benjamin Moore paints. In 2018 Bosbyshell was also named one of the Rising Stars of Design by Traditional Home. Traditional Home chooses national designers to be a part of this prestigious design class each year. Atlanta-based designer Clary Bosbyshell grew up in the world of design and  developed her eye for aesthetics at a young age, spending her days amongst antique markets and art galleries, swatch books and fabric samples. A Lamar Dodd School of Art graduate who studied design in Cortona, Italy,  Clary spent two years in the world of fashion merchandising further honing her eye for smart and stylish design. Clary is known for creating timeless interiors that layer color and pattern while being both elegant and practical, mixing in fine antiques and one-of-a-kind pieces. Clary’s passion for design combined with her understanding of her clients’ needs has led her to design projects ranging from traditional to contemporary.

Traditional Home is a design and decorating magazine that targets prosperous readers. Traditional Home is published by the Meredith Corporation and “celebrates the pleasures of modern life through the prism of classic taste” and has been the best-selling home magazine at newsstands for nine consecutive years.

Bosbyshell received her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, majoring in Art History. During her time at the Dodd she spent a semester in Cortona taking design courses. After graduating, Bosbyshell joined her mother’s interior design firm in 2009, Margaux Interiors Ltd. She recently opened her own namesake design firm, Clary Bosbyshell Design, as featured in Architectural Digest. Founded in 2019 and based in Atlanta, Clary Bosbyshell Design is a full service design firm with extensive experience in residential and light commercial design projects.

The Dodd Galleries present Aidan Koch’s (American, b. 1988) solo exhibition Mountain Tongue, curated by the Lamar Dodd School of Art's Lindsey Reynolds, Associate Director of Research and Graduate Studies and Art Librarian.

The Dodd Galleries at the University of Georgia are pleased to announce The Body Politic, our 2025 Margie E. West Prize recipient exhibition in which Lamar Dodd School of Art alumna, Kristine Potter (American, b. 1977)—BFA Photography and BA Art History (‘01)—presents a survey of selected work from three series: The Gray Line (2005-2010), Manifest (2012-2017), and Dark Waters (2015-2023).

The UGA Community Art School features courses for adults seeking to learn new skills, hone techniques, and expand their artistic expression. Taught by UGA faculty, the classes maximize individual instruction and experiential learning in the legendary studios of the Lamar Dodd School of Art.

Ally Smith, 2025 Dodd commencement speaker and recipient of Art Director’s Award for Outstanding undergraduate student, is a fourth-year graphic design student with a minor in studio art, design and media at UGA’s Lamar Dodd School of Art. Smith has worked closely with alumna Kelly Layton (BFA graphic design, '90) and credits her own interests in participating in the newly introduced Layton Design
