Dodd Faculty Solo Exhibition at Virginia Wesleyan University

Professor of Art Diane Edison currently has a solo exhibition Neil Britton Art Gallery at Virginia Wesleyan University. Portraits is on view through November 2.
Diane Edison’s large-scale portraits are completed with colored pencils on black paper. Her drawings require a singularly concentrated process of observation and rendering. The resulting portraits are deeply psychological and provide an intense depiction of humanity. Edison is represented by The George Adams Gallery in NYC. Her work has been shown at the Forum Gallery, the DC Moore Gallery, the Tatischef Gallery, at the American Embassies of Moscow Russia, N’Djamena, Chad, the Museum of Contemporary Art in LA, and the Kwang Ju Biennale in South Korea. Her work has been reviewed in The New York Times and The New Yorker magazine. Professor Edison also recently taught at New Bulgarian University while completing a Fulbright in Sofia, Bulgaria as a research scholar and lecturer. She is a faculty member of the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia. She will serve as Hollin’s University’s Frances Niederer Artist-in-Residence in 2019.
