Just outside Gallery 101 in the Atrium, Post-MFA Fellow in Sculpture, Kevin Varney will exhibit a kinetic light installation. Through the use of artificial light phenomena, this exhibition places scientific theory and transcendental beliefs within arms length of one another. A space is created, in which artifice and artifact propel curiosity for, and perhaps experience of, the paraphysical.
Kevin Varney is a contemporary sculptor from the Midwestern United States. Recently Varney earned his MFA in Sculpture from the University of Tennessee. He received his BFA from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio in Sculpture and Jewelry/ Metals Fabrication. Currently he is a Post-MFA Fellow in Sculpture and Foundations at the University of Georgia. Varney has received numerous awards and grants for his experimental use of materials and technology and continues to exhibit his work as he develops these new methods of making form and meaning.
