Junior graphic design majors Daniel Easley and Jonathan Cheaves each had their poster design submissions selected for inclusion in AIGA Atlanta’s Poster Show Part II: Art Director’s Cut exhibition, on view at the 2017 Atlanta Film Festival from March 24 to April 2. The Atlanta chapter of AIGA recently asked designers to submit poster designs based on their favorite movies and then curated a select group of designs for exhibition. AIGA is the professional association for design, with 70 chapters and more than 25,000 members in the U.S. and abroad.
Cheaves’ poster design paid homage to the 1979 movie, Breaking Away, and Easley’s poster was based on the 1980 horror film, The Shining. At the March 24 reception for the Poster Show Part II exhibition, held at the Highland Inn Ballroom Lounge in Atlanta, Cheaves’ poster was chosen for a Sponsor’s Choice Award.
