Congratulations to Dodd Professor Melissa Harshman for receiving the 2017 Dedicato a Cortona Award. This award is given out by the Office of International Education to faculty or staff who demonstrate significant commitment and contribution to the Cortona program. “Dedicato a Cortona” translates to “Dedicated to Cortona,” which is true to Harshman as she has taught on the Cortona program eight times, most recently in summer 2016.
Harshman has taught in the Printmaking and Book Arts Department at the Dodd since 1993. She has shown nationally and internationally, including the Scuole Internazionale di Grafica in Venice, Italy; Aberystwyth University in Wales; and Galleria Il Bisonte in Florence, Italy. Recent residencies include the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice and Penland School of Crafts.
