In the context of the creative process, serendipitous moments are often described as “happy accidents.” Push Until It Falls Apart is a collection of exploratory typographic methodologies for generating happy—and somewhat intentional—accidents.

Dodd Alum Cassie Hester is an avid reader, doodler, and unrepentant typography nerd. Hester received her BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Georgia and her MFA in Design/Visual Communications from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her typographic explorations have been featured in publications such as Print, Metropolis, eg Magazine, and STEP Inside Design. She has presented her work at numerous international design conferences, from New York to New Zealand. The recipient of two SEGD (Society for Experiential Graphic Design) Global Design Awards Merit Awards, in 2012 and 2015, Hester also served as a juror for the awards in 2013 alongside a distinguished group of peers. Currently, Hester is a freelance designer/illustrator and Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at Mississippi State University.
