Sara Parker and Simon Hunt will give a talk at 1:25 pm on Wednesday, February 15th in room N225 about their textile design work currently on view in the C-U-B-E Galleryin the exhibition, Improvisation in Repeat.
Parker is a multidisciplinary designer who studied Fiber and Material Studies at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2010, after teaching and working with many artists in Chicago, she returned home to Georgia to start her own textile label where she could engage with her love of screen printing on fabric. Hunt is a photographer, printmaker and musician who explores the counterpoint between texture, geometry and improvisation through all these areas. He graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he met Sara and joined her in creating textile yardage and art prints, which they produce in their home studio.
