Three Solos and a Collection at LDSOA

Arthur Gonzalez
Kathy Prescott
Suzani: Uzbek Treasures in Thread

Variety of attitude, function and material exploration are on display in the galleries at the Lamar Dodd School of art this week. Featuring the abstract acrylics of Franklin Fellow Ian Haggarty, the ruminative ceramic sculpture of California based artist Arthur Gonzalez, and the atmospheric transfer collages of Athens artist Kathy Prescott on the third floor galleries. Visceral and inviting, all three solo exhibitions present viewers with singular artistic visions and technical wizardry. Technique of the needle will be on display in Gallery 101 on the first floor, with the opening of SUZANI: Uzbek Treasures in Thread. Showcasing selected embroideries from the Charlene Page Kaufman Memorial Textile Collection, this exhibition includes an array of pattern, colors, textures and recent student work inspired by Suzani.
